I love a quick and delicious recipe, especially when it's a dessert. I love all sorts of different desserts from cakes to pies and anything else because I'm that sweet tooth person!!
Now I can make a cake from time to time but really need to follow someone else's recipe for the most part and even then, it's not always my strongest point so I find easier recipes that work just as well.
So when I get a craving for something a little indulgent I check to see what fruits I have that might need to be used up sooner than later and that's exactly how this recipe was brought together!

Ingredients
4 apples
2 pears
2 sheets of pastry
1/4 cup brown sugar
A pinch of cinnamon
A pinch of salt
A pinch of nutmeg
1 teaspoon maple syrup
1 to 2 tablespoon of caramel sauce (optional) to spread across the dough.
I have a dairy free version that you can find under the vegan section of my recipes.
Preheat the oven at 400 degrees and make sure the rack is second from the top.

Instructions
Peel the apples and pears, then using a knife or mandolin cut the apples and pears into thin slices. Add them to a large bowl then blend all the remaining ingredients together EXCEPT the caramel and the pastry sheets. 😉

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil (make sure to spray with baking spray if using aluminum foil).
Carefully, place each pastry sheet over the pan and press it together so it's evenly distributed then with a fork, lightly poke holes in the pastry sheet.

If using caramel sauce drizzle it across the bottom. If not skip to the next step!

Now add the apple and pear mixture and spread well to cover the entire top!
Bake in preheated oven for about 15 to 20 minutes making sure to turn it at about 8 minutes to check the baking time left. Mine was in about 18 minutes and could have been pulled at 17 minutes.

Sometimes the crispy bits are the best!

Darn Good Stuff!!
