Homemade Granola Bars

Ever thought of making your own granola bars?


They are actually quite easy to toss together and you can always mix up the ingredients like dried fruit or nuts and seeds to accommodate your taste.

In a large bowl mix the following ingredients


1/2 cup of oats

1 cup of granola

1/4 cup of chia seeds

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoons of cinnamon


In a food processor add and pulse a few times to get a crumbly texture.


6 pitted dates

1/2 cup of dried cranberries

1/2 cup of walnuts


Add mixture to dry ingredients and blend well and set aside.

In a pot over medium heat add the following ingredients.


1 cup of peanut butter

1/3 cup of coconut oil

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1/3 cup of maple syrup


Heat everything stirring well then once fully heated, pour mixture over the dry ingredients in the bowl and stir to cover well!

Using wax or parchment paper add it to a baking pan and then pour the granola mixture into the dish and press everything evenly until the pan is fully covered.


Place in fridge to set ( up to 2 hours ) slice into bars and enjoy!


Store at room temperature in an airtight container for 3-5 days or in the fridge for 5-8 days. In the freezer for optimal freshness. They only take a few minutes to thaw.
