I swear I come up with the craziest and tastiest recipes!! This one is no exception!!

Trying to find the right texture to create the perfect burger takes a little patience and practice but that's what I'm here for!!

With my recipes, it takes all the guess work out of the mix and leaves you with a simple recipe to try for yourself!!

Ground Round (hamburger)

Chop up a 1/4 of a cauliflower head

Dice up 2 medium jalapeños with the seeds

Now add everything to a bowl and then add the following.

1 cup of chopped walnuts (not soaked)

1 packet of French's Meat Marinade

1/2 cup of soya sauce

1/2 cup of steak sauce

1 teaspoon of smoked paprika

ree

Mix everything in the bowl very well until all the vegetables and walnuts are covered.

Your ground round should look similar to this before cooking.

In your air fryer, I have a double fryer, add half of the mixture to each air fryer container and spread across the bottom.

ree

Set to air fryer mode, 400 degrees for 15 minutes both sides.

While you're waiting on the ground round to cook, start making your own binder for the ground round. Normally eggs are used as a binder in a recipe to help keep things together when cooking but this is a vegan recipe so I pulsed together 1 cup of pitted dates and 1 cup of oats.

Once your air fryer is done, remove the trays and add both mixtures to the dates and oatmeal and blend together well.

Let sit for about 5 minutes or until cool enough to handle with clean hands. This gives the dates and oatmeal a chance to start binding the ground round together making it easier to form a burger patty.

Once cooled add 1 cup of breadcrumbs to 1 1/2 cups depending on how much moisture is left in the mixture and mix it well with your hands to really incorporate the breadcrumbs.

ree

Now take the mixture and divide into 4 equal burger patties.

ree

Add the patties to the air fryer on the tray and add them back to the air fryer and cook on air fry mode at 400 degrees for 14 minutes.

ree

Set aside and allow to cool about a minute before serving on your favourite bun!!
